So you may have already heard – dazza is now tinydot photography.

In the last year, I’ve had several opportunities to collaborate with the guys from Tinydot. Working with each other has been great and we’ve found that we work better together. So when we put our heads together we realized ‘Hey! Wouldn’t it be great, if we could just work as a team all the time?’. And that is exactly what we have planned – to work together under the same roof as Tinydot photography. While I will no longer be telling wedding stories under Dazza Pictures, I plan to maintain it as a space for some of my personal work.

I am grateful for all the memories I was able to be a part of, thank you all for the love and support. While the studio name may have changed, I’m still the same old Dazza, the same wacky dude. And I hope you will join me at Tinydot Photography.

Tell us a little about yourself.
Hello, I’m Dazza but my real name is Darryl. I’m Singaporean, music makes me happy and alcohol gets me drunk. I’ve lived in the East side of Singapore all my life – grew up skateboarding around East Coast Park, Katong, Bedok and Changi. My favourite colours are yellow, black and blue. Oh, and I really love coffee.

Tell us about the typical ‘Dazza’ approach to wedding portrait photography (pre-wedding).
We talk, we laugh and we just enjoy being ourselves. I feel that there is a joy within every couple just knowing that they love each other and that they are getting married. I just try to capture them for who they are as real, as natural and uncontrived as we can. I think we remember moments and hold them closer to our hearts when we know that there is a meaning or a story behind it. For all of us, that is a bit more meaningful than an image that is just pretty. And I think we look back in fondness at precious photos and recall “Remember that day when this was shot and we were happy just being together. This is us”.

Stoked is the word to describe how I feel right now that Melissa+Alan’s portraits have been featured on Rock n Roll Bride. If you love – out of the ordinary, non-conformity and basically not being part of the cookie-cutter brigade, than you would already know about Kat Williams and her Rock n Roll Bride blog.

Kat’s blog is one kick ass venue for any bride that believes “It’s not about being ‘cool’, being a rebel or even thinking of the most unique idea you can, it’s about planning a wedding that reflects you and your partner and declaring your love in your way.”

A persona I find most closely relates to the pictures I seek to make. And I couldn’t say it any better than how Melissa+Alan put it -

“We just wanted to be ourselves. No magical fairy tale kind of wedding, no heels, no leather shoes, no cummerbunds. Super down to earth and casual that says ‘This is Melissa and Alan’.”

Well, I’m uber excited to share that all 12 photographers in the Wedding Photographers Network (WPN) have agreed as a group, to offer a credit of S$200 to wedding couples who consciously take sharks’ fin soup off their wedding banquet menus!

To my knowledge, I don’t think any major organisation involved in the wedding industry has ever made a stand for sharks the way we are coming forward to do so. And for a small ‘rag-tag’ team of wedding photographers, if I do say so myself, I think its bloody time and a damn good effort.
