I am also a Human
April 21, 2009
Sometimes I feel like a whore – I get phone calls late at night asking me how much I charge for my services.
I get it, I’m in a profession that is essentially a service business and potential clients would like to know how my work looks like, how much are my rates and what are my ‘packages’. Sometimes they ask a lot questions or sometimes they go “Oh, so expensive…*click*” and hang up. Sometimes I’m asked to travel to far out places at various times for which I have to reschedule my time to please them. But I make sure I deliver great looking products, offer a fabulous services and provide all of them with special treatments.
But I am not a whore nor pimp, I am a photographer. And I am also Human.
I have a partner whom I can love, a family who loves me, friends who have been through everything with me and a life on the ‘outside’ too. I have emotions, feelings, moods and faults. I feel happy, sad, elated and depressed. Sometimes I do everything right, but at times I make tons of mistakes too. I have physical flaws and feel insecure about them, like how I have an odd shaped skull with a balding spot or like how my face breaks out from eczema. And my blood runs just as red as anyone else on this green Earth.
So treat me, like how you would like to be treated. Treat me, like how anyone else deserves to be treated. Treat me like a Human.
