Melbourne Bound
November 28, 2008
dazza is running away and taking flight from the 29th of November to the 7th of December. I will be living off the land, so please be a ‘lil patient if I do take a while longer to return calls and emails.
It’s been 2 1/2 – 3 years since I returned from Melbourne. And tonight I depart on a flight back to the place where I stood in awe of crimson sunsets, blue skies, autumn leaves, street cafes and a venicular graffiti culture.
Labbitan and I will be travelling together and we initially had a plan to blog each day like the Mammoth Men blog, but the realisation of the lack of internet and capable notebooks to edit and illustrate put that on hold. And while I am happy to be able to travel, this has got to be the most unplanned-planned trip. We booked tickets and decided to travel some 2 months back, but in actuality we haven’t decided what places we’d be visiting. I hope I can post some entries or photos while we’re sipping cafe lattes at the street cafes or twitter if I can afford the phone bills. But if I do take a little longer to respond, thank you for your patience.
And to tide this over, here are some photos from the 5 yrs I spent in the Garden State. Gosh, some of these are even film scans when I was still shooting film before I switched over to the light side, on a Nikon F65 and Lomo LC-A.
This one’s on the back of a namecard somewhere… ;-)
This was the kind of sunsets I used to catch each autumn evening. The photograph even appeared in The Age newspaper’s My Melbourne online user submitted gallery. I believe Eadwine had a couple of shots entered there too at that time.
This is Onions, I used to live with this pussy and 2 other fab housemates. We called ourselves the Cromwell Cats.
XD
