Geoffery and Valerie

Here’s a quick pick from Geoffery and Valerie’s wedding held at Amara Spa Resort, Sentosa which started the wedding season for me last weekend. It totally blew my mind.

The one with the Carousel Birthday Cake

September 20, 2010

So we celebrated X’s birthday over the weekend, where we had my sister create an ultra-special cake designed as a Carousel. All Yvonne had to work on was me telling her ‘X would be surprised with a cake made as a carousel with horses’. According to Yvonne, she spent a few sleepless nights thinking about the design and then how she would make it structurally sound. I too, had not seen the cake until the very day of the reveal and was equally blown away like X. I mean, seriously check it out!

PS: I’ve had to deal with X going ‘How can I cut into this cake?! What a pity to do so’. Everything on the cake, except the pillars is edible and underneath the fondant sits a yummylicous chocolate cake, which I am dying to eat once X cuts into it.

The one about a single tear: WPJA and AG|WPJA Awards

September 15, 2010

Its always nice to know the effort we put into our work gets recognized once in a while. Though I may have some bragging rights, I really think I am nowhere, not even with some pats on the back from WPJA and AG|WPJA. I’m still very much in my eyes a fresh photographer – I’m no expert, master or fame acclaimed photographer – and in that sense I’d like to continue to be curious, inquisitive and in constant wonder.

Valene+Issac {Solemnization}

September 14, 2010

Solemnization of Issac+Valene

When the bride and groom puts in the time and effort to personally hand make nearly each and every item for their solemnization ceremony, you know a whole lot of heart is involved.

The couple personalized everything from baking their wedding favours -cupcakes, designing place card and even the making wedding cake. You could tell it meant a lot to them that theirs was a personal event. So much so, that their personalized vows that neither party knew before the ceremony drew some tears. True story, so true that AGWPJA thought it was cool to give us an award for it.

Valene and Issac held their solemnization at Amara Sanctuary Spa which was followed by a reception at the venue’s Shutters restaurant. The couple’s flower arrangements were created by 85flowers.com.sg.

Dazza be away feeding mosquitoes in-camp

August 10, 2010

army gear

Heading in for my Annual In-Camp Training again. Like clockwork, I receive my call-up for this time of the year, pack my gear (which I have not), use the exact same image I’m using for this post as I have for the past 3 years and disappear for a week or so.

So I’ll be away from the 10th to 22nd, so do pardon me if I do that a while to reply emails and such.

“…here we go again…same old sh…again”

33 Year Old Kid

July 12, 2010

dazza_cake01

I turned a year older over the weekend and my sister baked me this cake. I was truly wowed.

“This cake was made specially for my kid brother. He just turned 33, no longer a kid by all accounts but to me he’ll always be my rascally little bro.

Though we are 7 years apart, growing up he was my ally at home, getting up to mischief together when we were supposed to be studying. Catching smelly beetles and irritating our elder sis. He was also my “umbrella life-saver”-I would give him $1 to shelter me to the bus-stop on rainy days because carrying an umbrella to town when you’re on a date would be just too ‘unglam’.

Through the years, I’ve seen him grow into a wonderful person and I’m really proud of him, of the person he’s become and how he works real hard to achieve his goals.
So for this years cake, I wanted it to not only represent some aspect of him but to bring a big smile to his face.

So to a Star Wars fan, an amazing photographer,my umbrella life-saver and most importantly an all time great brother – HAPPY 33RD BIRTHDAY!”
