We are but little people

July 31, 2009

we are but little peopleOur view of the world is narrowed and often times tunneled and shaded with techni-coloured glasses. We walk around with our street level gaze, caught up in our own merry little lives. Happy with our worlds, that revolves around ourselves. And as we walk about we fail to realize, we are just one of many other robots slaved to the machine. We forget that we make up a mess of masses.

And we continuing bobbing about, carrying on and moving on. Moving on with our daily routines, as we zip by others while our own lives zip pass us. But alas, such is life as they say. And we move on.

We move on not realizing we are being watched as we carry out our affairs. Watched by friends, family, strangers and for a religious person – God. Strange though, that we hardly think much about it, that eyes are on us all the time, watching, observing and studying us in our own worlds. We pay no thought to return that gaze, to travel out of ourselves and to contemplate the other view.

And as we cruise along in our little worlds, in our little lives, why pretend that we aren’t looking through the bottom of a glass bottle? Why pretend we are looked down upon and we look down on? Why pretend that we are all but little people?

Little people being watched from afar.

Hi Grace! Nice to erm, meet you virtually? :P Thank you for your compliments and you know Eulee too. Such a small world isn’t it? Wait, pun not intended. ;)

    Hi Darryl,
I am a friend of Linda, whom you are shooting her wedding on the 26th! This is a great project!
I just learnt about TS lens from Eulee’s comments! When I first saw these pictures, the super ‘macro’ feel gives one the feeling of really looking at some miniature set here! Wow! Great works! Inspiring!

Eulee, so happen I know you too… if you remember.. the gal who did digital imaging for her own wedding album & that was years ago! You covered my actual day then…

Great time finding out about you today, Darryl! And bumping into you here again, Eulee!

Hey dude! Thank you for that, I agree the human/people elements in the shot add to the shot/concept better. I love my 45mm.
