Wedding of Ann + Sebastien
March 23, 2009
Chocolate hearts – no. Heart shaped ballons – no. Overpriced red roses – no. Candlelight dinner overlooking the skyline with fireworks – no.
Just what am I talking about? Valentines Day. In the last sneak peak, I let in some shots of an Engagement Session at the Botanic Gardens with Ann and Sebastien who held their simple and meaningful wedding on the day Cupid shoots hearts with his little arrows. (Me thinks Cupid must have also worked a little harder that day to keep it sunny and the rain away). And while everyone else celebrated the day with cliched heart-shaped everythings, Ann and Sebastien kept it all elegantly simple. Choosing the iconic band stand for their solemnization, a cosy reception at Halia Villa and a delicious lunch at Halia Restaurant.
The Lacroix family also came down all the way from France and though the couple joked about chicken and ducks trying to communicate, I thought that the bright warm smiles that shone from all, transcended the language barriers and was all that was needed to be said.
Well, get ready for an overload of photographs, biggest post ever!
Covering portraits with the couple was a breeze, because we had time during our Engagement Session before the actual day and the three of us just knew what to expect with our prior chemistry.
I just love how the couple was so cool for me to include other ‘casts’ in their shots. i.e. a crowd of tourists exploring the gardens.
‘Darling, I need to powder my nose’.
Ann and her sister were up the whole night, decorating the Bridal Umbrella.
And just when they thought I wasn’t looking…CLICK. :P
The spontaneous couple humoured me when I said ‘Hey walk through that crowd doing taichi’. How cool is that?!
Kingsley the Border Collie almost stole ALL the limelight from the Bride and Groom that day. How cool is it that this Border Collie has a blog off his own. He’s even posted about the wedding there as well. Take care in the Netherlands Kingsley + S!
Lil’ flower girl needing a little help up the stairs.
This was when the J.P asked if anyone had anything to say about the union of the bride and groom and Kingsley started barking! True story. ;)
The couples’ family and friends.
Sebastien’s sister learning about ‘yum seng’.
Wasn’t any need for ‘shhhhhh…’ She was sound, sound, asleep.
I thought this was quite interesting. I’ve not seen Doc Marten boots in a while. Let alone purple ones!
Kids, kids, kids. Kids having a field day at the candy counter…
…playing with Auntie Ann’s bridal train.
…and being left behind… (I love this shot so so much. Lifting her dress up, so she wouldn’t trip while chasing up on the group of ‘grown ups’.
It was sweet to see my name on in. But…erm…there’s an ‘R’ missing… :P
OT – Does anyone remember this old 80s film called D.A.R.Y.L – Data Analysing Robot Youth Lifeform?
Thank you guys for the seat at the dining table and for entrusting me with your Valentines Day wedding, I had a great time at the Gardens. Cheers!
